At Mini & Me Garden, we nurture not just plants, but also the bonds between families.
Roots & Memories at Grandfather’s
Founders Foundation
The foundation of Mini & Me Garden is deeply rooted in the childhood summers I spent on my grandfather’s in Graham, Washington. Back then, gardening felt more like a chore than a joy. I often found myself wishing for a break from the repetitive tasks and wishing to washing dishes instead. Amidst the yard work, a quiet curiosity began to blossom.
However I will admit there was a certain magic in the moments when harvesting apples transformed into something sweet and shared. Baking pies together became the highlight of harversting. Now looking back It was in those simple acts that I first understood the power of a shared harvest and the joy it brings.
These early experiences instilled in me a vital lessons about the balance of nature. While gardening required effort, its true value was in the relationships we cultivate along the way. At Mini & Me Garden, we aim to pass on this wisdom, helping families create joyful gardens while teaching essential life skills to their MiniMe’s.
As I navigated my career and passion for technology life was navigating me back to nature. Plants resurfaced in a significant way in my life when took a role in California. Working as an Operations Manager in a large-scale cannabis indoor operation. It was at that point my passion and roots blended into one world. I delved deep into the science of growth cycles, the intricate mathematics of nutrient density and the technology needed to manage it all. This experience not only honed my technical skills but also sparked a journey of emotional and spiritual self-discovery. I learned to appreciate the delicate balance of nurturing plants, which mirrored the attention and care I wanted to bring into my life as a mother. During my pregnancy, I recognized that the demands of industrial cultivation were not aligned with my vision of motherhood. This realization prompted me to pivot towards a more personal venture, where I could blend my expertise with my newfound insights into nurturing both plants and my family.
The Turning Point
A Mother’s Discovery
Returning to my hometown in Washington and joining the Pierce County Farm Foundation transformed my understanding of growing. The real catalyst for this shift was my daughter. As she navigated her world with neurodivergence, I witnessed her struggles in environments that prioritized compliance over connection. Yet, in the garden, she discovered a sanctuary. What was once a childhood chore for me became a healing and transformative experience for her. This journey ignited my passion to help other families recognize that gardens are not just places to grow food; they are spaces to cultivate confident leaders. Through sensory support, confidence-building, and the freedom to thrive, the garden became a classroom without walls, where every child can flourish on their own terms.
